About Jim Holbert
Who is Jim Holbert?
Jim is an Emergency Medical Service helicopter pilot in London, and his work regularly takes him throughout the 5th District and other regions of Kentucky. In his leisure time, Jim enjoys hiking and canoeing in the Daniel Boone National Forest, Bible teaching, and reading about American history and government.
Jim earned a Bachelor's Degree in 1975 and was certified as a secondary school teacher in science before entering military service. He spent a total of 21 years in the Army, Army National Guard, and Coast Guard, and worked at several flying jobs before choosing to settle in Kentucky.
Because Jim's service career and employment in the aviation industry required moving the family so frequently, he and Cindy are committed to putting down permanent roots in southeast Kentucky. Still at home with them are a daughter who graduated from Somerset Community College and is now completing her four-year degree at Eastern Kentucky University, and a granddaughter who attends Cornerstone Christian School in Lily. Jim and Cindy also have 2 grown sons who live and work in the Pacific Northwest.
Over the years, Jim has worked in Kentucky first while serving as an Army officer at Ft. Campbell, then as a helicopter pilot supporting oil, gas and coalfield work, and now as a Medical helicopter pilot in the southeast region. Jim understands the issues that are important to Kentuckians of the 5th District:
-- Effective defense of America's sovereignty and freedoms
-- An energy plan that makes sense for America's future
-- Job creation and preservation
-- Meaningful, affordable, available, and effective education
-- Responsible resource development, conservation, protecting our homes, and preserving
our beautiful hills, clear streams, and clean air
Jim believes strongly in opportunity for all Americans through hard work, respect between people, and equal justice under the rule of law. Jim Holbert offers Kentucky's 5th District voters a real alternative, new ideas, and plans for action to move Kentucky and America forward.
