Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration takes jobs away from American workers and drives American wages down. Illegal immigration drains billions in wages each year that aren't taxed, spent, or invested in America. Illegal immigration imposes high health care, social services, and public safety costs on American taxpayers.
In Congress I will stand for immediately recalling National Guard troops from overseas areas and using them to secure America's borders against illegal immigration and smuggling activity.
I will work for requiring vigorous enforcement of laws already on the books against knowingly employing illegal immigrants. Such employers should be put out of business by fines and imprisonment, as the law requires. Expensive and slow mass deportation programs aren't needed because when illegal jobs go away, illegal immigrants will go away too.
I support helping the poor of other nations while we help ourselves. We can do this by applying economic pressure against oppressive and corrupt foreign governments that don't provide opportunity for their own people.
